OLD CARS NEVER DIE
A photographic journal of my travels to find old cars and trucks.
In these pages you will see pictures of old cars and pictures of old trucks, hot rods, street rods, restored and rejuvenated cars and rusting carcasses of once great cars. Come back often to see where my travels take me, what memories I dig up and who I meet. I prowl the back roads in search of rusted relics and visit tow yards and what can only be considered car grave yards in search of old metal beasts who, for the most part, hide their secret past. On occasion, I attend car cruises like Roseburg, Oregon's Graffiti Event where I take pictures, talk with car owners and enjoy the myriad versions of old cars.
I admit to a preference for restored and rejuvinated rather than custom or rods. In fact, I'd rather see a rusting hulk than watch it disappear as a street rod. Vintage cars are disappearing into the metal scap heap and at the hands of the rat rod enthusiast. I do appreciate and photograph their fine art, I just maintain a steadfast concern for preservation.
Camera in hand, I invite people to show me their old cars, tell me their stories and reveal both the details about their cars and trucks and their own history of owning the vehicle. Sometimes I "borrow" images from other sites to make a point or to share what the rusting hulk might look like if someone rejuvenated or restored the car.
And sometimes, when the stars are aligned and the old car Gods are smiling, someone will contact me to learn the location of an automobile in hopes of purchasing to restore or rejuvenate. Nothing makes me happier. Return to this site often to see what additions. And don't hesitate to send me your own pictures for publication. Use the contact form.
